PENDER POST ARTICLE OF COMMERCE
On June 12 the Pender Island Chamber of Commerce hosted a Food Safe course at the Community Hall
attended by 12 people. Our special thanks to Paul Hutchinson. The detailed course was so well received
that there is further interest to host another Food Safe course in the coming months. If anyone is interested
in information or to register, please email Melody Pender at email@example.com
As many of us know, Pender Island has been featured in several best-selling magazines, and generated
interest around the globe. The Southern Gulf islands and its attributes, with our own Pender Island in the
spotlight, were seen in:
- Voted – one of 52 Places to Go In 2016 –New York Times
- Soaking Up the Quiet on Pender Island –Western Living Magazine
- Exploring Canada’s Gulf Islands - BoatUS Magazine
We are hoping for an exciting summer this year with the added publicity.
This bring me to the equally exciting news that the Visitor Information Centre is now open Thursdays,
Fridays and Saturday to help anyone in need of any Pender island information. With a special bevy of
knowledge on activities, lodging, and camping, there are maps, brochures and guides that anyone
interested may pick up. For an exciting opportunity to meet visitors to the Island and showcase your
‘home’ – we are looking for volunteers to help staff the Visitor Information Centre for two hours at a
time. Just the smiles on our visitors’ faces is worth every minute of your time. Please email Melody
Pender at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Visitor Information Booth at the Pender Island Saturday Market will also be re-opening again in July
– come on over and visit us and with your comments and ideas.
Here’s to a great summer!
